Description
HIQILI Organic Tea Tree Essential Oil
One ingredient. Nothing added.
This bottle holds a single botanical: USDA certified organic Melaleuca alternifolia leaf oil, steam distilled in Australia. No carrier oil, no diluent, no synthetic aroma. Nothing is blended in to stretch the volume.
How to judge a tea tree oil
Two numbers tell you most of what you need.
Terpinen-4-ol
The compound the international standard is built around. ISO 4730 sets its window at 35–48%, and more of it generally means a fuller, rounder tea tree character.
1,8-Cineole
The compound behind the sharp, medicinal edge of cheap tea tree. ISO 4730 caps it at 15%. The lower it sits, the greener and more herbal the oil reads.
Tea tree is one of the few essential oils with an international standard written around its chemistry — ISO 4730:2017 sets a permitted window for every characteristic compound. That is what makes it checkable instead of just claimable.
Your bottle's own numbers live on its own report.
Every batch is distilled and tested separately, so the figures move from lot to lot. Rather than quote a number here that may not be yours, we publish each batch against its LOT number.

From an Australian leaf to this bottle.
Melaleuca alternifolia grows in the wet, low-lying country of northern New South Wales and southern Queensland. The leaves are harvested and steam distilled — no solvent, no pressing. What comes off is a colourless to pale yellow oil with a crisp, clean, herbaceous opening and a faintly woody tail.
Read the label on the bottle before you file it away. The LOT number printed there is the key to its paperwork, and it is the one detail that cannot be looked up from the product page.
Where it earns its place.
Tea tree is a working oil, not a decorative one. Five places it fits without asking much of you.
01 · Face, diluted
Blend into a carrier oil or a plain cleanser for a facial step aimed at oily, congested-feeling skin. Keep it to the low end of the dilution chart and start on a small patch.
02 · Scalp, before washing
Add a few drops to a carrier oil and massage into the scalp ten minutes before shampooing. The herbal note lingers through the wash and the scalp feels fresher afterwards.
03 · Nails and cuticles
A drop stirred into a cuticle oil keeps nails and the surrounding skin looking clean and cared for. Small area, low dilution, every other day.
04 · A freshening spray for the kitchen
A few drops in water with a splash of alcohol, for counters and the sink area. Use it as the finishing step in a cleaning routine — it freshens the surface and the room, nothing more.
05 · Laundry
Two or three drops on wool dryer balls, or on a cloth tossed in the drum, for towels and gym kit that need a lift.
Dilution
Dilute it before it touches skin.
Tea tree is classed as a skin sensitiser, so repeated undiluted contact can sensitise skin over time. Carrier oil first — jojoba, fractionated coconut or sweet almond. Patch test the inner forearm and wait 24 hours before going wider.
| Face and sensitive skin | 0.25% – 0.5% |
| Scalp oil | 0.5% – 1% |
| Everyday body oil | 1% – 2% |
For drop counts at each percentage in a 10 mL, 30 mL or 60 mL bottle, use our dilution chart.
Before you open the bottle.
| Skin | Dilute first. Patch test 24 hours before wider use. |
| Eyes | Keep well away. If it gets in, rinse with running water for 15 minutes and seek medical advice. |
| Mouth | Do not swallow. Harmful if swallowed. |
| Children and pets | Keep the bottle out of reach. Ask a qualified professional before use on children or around pets. |
| Drains | Do not pour leftover oil down the sink — it is harmful to aquatic life. |
GHS classification: skin sensitiser (H317), causes serious eye damage (H318), harmful if swallowed (H302), very toxic to aquatic life (H400, H410). Signal word: Warning.
The paperwork travels with the bottle.
Each batch is distilled and tested on its own, so the documents belong to the LOT number rather than to this page. Enter the LOT printed on your label and you get that batch's GC-MS, MSDS and certificate of analysis in one place.
