Wild Wind Fragrance Oil for Perfume & Candles
A spicy fougere — bergamot and pepper open into lavender, geranium and Sichuan pepper, over ambroxan, cedarwood and labdanum.
Description
Wild Wind Fragrance Oil for Perfume & Candles Fragrance Oil is a spicy fougère accord. Bergamot, Pepper lift the opening, sichuan pepper, lavender, pink pepper, vetiver, patchouli, geranium, elemi carry the heart, and ambroxan, cedarwood, labdanum hold the base. It is a blended fragrance oil for candles, wax melts, cold process soap, reed diffusers, linen sprays and perfume work, and the accord behaves the same way in each.
Fougère fragrance oils usually smell like shaving foam. Wild Wind avoids that by spicing the structure up. Sichuan pepper, lavender and geranium give the fougère a dry, aromatic heat, and ambroxan, cedarwood and labdanum keep the base clean instead of soapy. It is a fougère with teeth.

Product Details
What Does Wild Wind Fragrance Oil for Perfume & Candles Fragrance Oil Smell Like?
Wild Wind opens on bergamot and pepper, bright and dry, and the pepper gives the top a sharp, aromatic snap right away. Sichuan pepper, lavender, pink pepper, vetiver, patchouli, geranium and elemi carry the heart, and together they read spicy, green and a little herbal, the lavender keeping the accord clean while the peppers add heat. Ambroxan, cedarwood and labdanum close it, dry and clean, and that is what keeps the scent from turning soapy. The result is a bold, aromatic fougère with a dry, airy finish, like a sharp wind over dry grass.
How the Scent Moves
The first ten minutes belong to the bergamot and pepper, and the accord is bright and dry. From ten minutes to the two-hour mark the lavender, geranium and Sichuan pepper take over and the scent turns aromatic and spicy. The ambroxan, cedarwood and labdanum arrive last and stay the longest, and they are what keep the scent clean and dry. In wax this means a bold, masculine throw that suits study and cabin candles; in soap the aromatic base carries the fougère through a cure, so judge after four to six weeks.
Why Makers Choose Wild Wind Fragrance Oil for Perfume & Candles
- A Fougère With Teeth: Sichuan pepper, elemi and patchouli give the classic structure a dry, spicy heat instead of a soapy clean.
- Dry, Not Soapy: Ambroxan, cedarwood and labdanum keep the base clean and airy, so the scent never reads like shaving foam.
- Aromatic Heat That Lasts: The pepper and lavender carry through a hot throw and a soap cure, not just the bergamot opening.
- One Accord, Several Formats: The same spicy fougère carries from perfume to candle to diffuser, keeping a product line coherent.
How to Use It
- Candle & Wax Melts: Start at 6% to 10% by weight of wax. Add at 180°F to 185°F, stir for two full minutes, and pour at the temperature your wax maker recommends. Cure soy for one to two weeks before the first burn.
- Cold Process Soap: Start at 2% to 5%. Add after trace at the coolest temperature your recipe tolerates. Fragrances can accelerate trace, so line the mold first and stir by hand once the oil is in.
- Reed Diffusers: Dilute into a diffuser base to the strength you want. The base notes keep the room from going flat once the top notes burn off, which is the usual failure point.
- Linen & Room Sprays: Solubilize before diluting, or the oil will ring the glass and leave a film on fabric. Test on an offcut before spraying anything you intend to keep.
- Body Care & Perfume: Use 0.5% to 2% in lotions and other leave-on products, and 1% to 10% in perfume or fine fragrance. Patch test anything that stays on skin before you sell it.
These are starting ranges, not ceilings. The maximum for this scent in each application is set by its IFRA certificate, and that document is what to check before locking a formula.
Safety & Documentation
- Flash Point 214°F (101°C), closed cup — high enough for gel wax and stable at normal candle-making temperatures. Keep it away from open flame.
- Concentrate, not a finished product — do not swallow, do not apply neat to skin, keep it out of eyes. Rinse with plenty of water if contact happens.
- Keep out of reach of children and pets — cats and dogs are more sensitive to concentrated fragrance than people are. Wipe spills with an absorbent cloth instead of rinsing them away.
- IFRA certificate and safety data sheet — available on request before you order, and supplied with bulk quantities. No animal testing.
