Victor Birch Fragrance Oil for Perfume & Candles
A fruity chypre — blackcurrant and apple open into pineapple and jasmine, over birch wood, oakmoss and musk.
Description
Victor Birch Fragrance Oil for Perfume & Candles Fragrance Oil is a fruity chypre accord. Lemon, Pink Pepper, Apple, Bergamot, Blackcurrant lift the opening, pineapple, jasmine, patchouli carry the heart, and birch wood, ambergris, cedarwood, oakmoss, musk hold the base. It is a blended fragrance oil for candles, wax melts, cold process soap, reed diffusers, linen sprays and perfume work, and the accord behaves the same way in each.
Most fruity fragrance oils are one-dimensional: they smell like a fruit bowl and then vanish. Victor Birch is built as a chypre instead, so the fruit has something dark and green underneath it. Birch wood, oakmoss and musk give the pineapple and blackcurrant a forested floor, which is why the scent reads grown-up rather than fruity-sweet.

Product Details
What Does Victor Birch Fragrance Oil for Perfume & Candles Fragrance Oil Smell Like?
Victor Birch opens on a bright, almost sparkling top: lemon, bergamot and apple come first, with pink pepper and blackcurrant giving the opening a dark, jammy edge. Pineapple follows and lifts the accord, then jasmine softens it into the heart. Underneath, birch wood, ambergris, cedarwood, oakmoss and musk carry a green, mossy weight that keeps the fruit from turning candy. The dry-down is the point: a dark, woody chypre with the fruit still glowing faintly on top.
How the Scent Moves
The first ten to fifteen minutes belong to the citrus and apple, and the accord is bright and crisp. From fifteen minutes to the two-hour mark the pineapple and jasmine take over and the scent turns fruity and a little tropical. The birch, oakmoss and musk arrive last and stay the longest, and they are what keep the fruit from reading as juice. In wax this means a scent that opens bright and dries down dark, which suits evening candles; in soap the mossy base is what survives a cure, so judge after a full four to six weeks.
Why Makers Choose Victor Birch Fragrance Oil for Perfume & Candles
- A Chypre, Not a Fruit Bowl: Birch wood, oakmoss and musk sit under the pineapple and blackcurrant, so the fruit reads grown-up instead of candy-sweet.
- Opens Bright, Dries Down Dark: The citrus top gives way to a mossy, woody base, which is exactly the arc a chypre should have.
- A Forested Floor That Lasts: The oakmoss and birch are what carry through a hot throw and a soap cure, not just the fruity opening.
- One Accord, Several Formats: The same fruity chypre carries from perfume to candle to diffuser, keeping a product line coherent.
How to Use It
- Candle & Wax Melts: Start at 6% to 10% by weight of wax. Add at 180°F to 185°F, stir for two full minutes, and pour at the temperature your wax maker recommends. Cure soy for one to two weeks before the first burn.
- Cold Process Soap: Start at 2% to 5%. Add after trace at the coolest temperature your recipe tolerates. Fragrances can accelerate trace, so line the mold first and stir by hand once the oil is in.
- Reed Diffusers: Dilute into a diffuser base to the strength you want. The base notes keep the room from going flat once the top notes burn off, which is the usual failure point.
- Linen & Room Sprays: Solubilize before diluting, or the oil will ring the glass and leave a film on fabric. Test on an offcut before spraying anything you intend to keep.
- Body Care & Perfume: Use 0.5% to 2% in lotions and other leave-on products, and 1% to 10% in perfume or fine fragrance. Patch test anything that stays on skin before you sell it.
These are starting ranges, not ceilings. The maximum for this scent in each application is set by its IFRA certificate, and that document is what to check before locking a formula.
Safety & Documentation
- Flash Point 214°F (101°C), closed cup — high enough for gel wax and stable at normal candle-making temperatures. Keep it away from open flame.
- Concentrate, not a finished product — do not swallow, do not apply neat to skin, keep it out of eyes. Rinse with plenty of water if contact happens.
- Keep out of reach of children and pets — cats and dogs are more sensitive to concentrated fragrance than people are. Wipe spills with an absorbent cloth instead of rinsing them away.
- IFRA certificate and safety data sheet — available on request before you order, and supplied with bulk quantities. No animal testing.
