FAQs

What can I make with HIQILI fragrance oils?

Our fragrance oils are perfect for a wide range of DIY projects, including candles, cold process and melt & pour soaps, reed diffusers, body oils, bath bombs, and more.

Are your fragrance oils safe for skin contact?

Many of our fragrance oils are skin-safe when properly diluted.

Are these fragrance oils suitable for candle making?

Absolutely! HIQILI fragrance oils are designed to offer excellent hot and cold throw in soy wax, beeswax, and other common candle bases.

How much fragrance oil should I use when making candles?

The general rule is to use 6% to 10% fragrance oil by weight of the wax. For example, if you're using 1 pound (16 oz) of wax, you’ll need about 1–1.6 oz of fragrance oil depending on desired scent strength and wax compatibility.

How much fragrance oil for an 8 oz candle?

For an 8 oz candle, using 6%–10% fragrance oil means you'll need between 0.5 oz and 0.8 oz of fragrance oil. Be sure to weigh the wax and oil with a digital scale for accuracy.

How much fragrance oil for a 16 oz candle?

A 16 oz candle will require approximately 1 oz to 1.6 oz of fragrance oil for optimal scent throw. Keep in mind that different waxes may hold scent differently, so testing is key.

How much fragrance oil for a 4 oz candle?

For a 4 oz candle, you’ll want to use 0.25 oz to 0.4 oz of fragrance oil. Avoid adding too much, as it may affect candle burn quality and safety.

How to make fragrance oil for candles?

While it’s technically possible to blend your own fragrance oil using essential oils and carrier oils, we don’t recommend it for candle making. Professional fragrance oils are specially formulated to be safe and effective in high-heat applications like candle burning. Homemade blends often lack the stability and performance needed for consistent results.
